The Jordan Neely case revived a bit of the spirit of George Floyd and the 2020s in the protesting professional class.
The death of a homeless man last week on the New York subway is, of course, a tragedy, but it is made worse by the fact that the left is determined to exploit him in any way possible.
Neely was painted bydemonstratorsas the beloved Michael Jackson impersonator who didn't have to be held back by the veteran Marine whose control over the man ultimately led to his death. They discount the fact that eyewitness accounts seem to suggest otherwise, and that Neely has a long history of mental illness and arrests.

AccordingWABC TelevisionNeely has been arrested 44 times for assault, attempted child abduction, indecent exposure and drugs. In another 43 cases, he was introduced by mental health professionals.WCBS Televisionreported that at 2:27 p.m. on the day of Neely's death, 911 began receiving calls aboutneely's behavior, including that he was armed and that there had been a robbery.
Amid the inflamed left-wing narrative, however, comes news of a decade-old social media post that specifically warned readers to "stay away" from Neely.
Are American cities having a homelessness crisis?
Even a liberal data controllerSnopes, after looking it up (almost certainly to prove the post was fake) he couldn't deny it.
“Over the years, various reports have described Neely as a locally known Michael [sic] Jackson impersonator who regularly performed on the New York City subway. According to family, friends and other Jackson impersonators, his mental health and behavior deteriorated over time, and in 2013 he was frequently yelling at passengers,” Snopes reported.

“According to a post on Reddit, in 2013, New York regulars seem to have noticed a change in the artist's demeanor. His actions, according to several commenters who shared a previous post, warranted at least one Reddit thread in 2013.
HePosition, on the social networking site r/NYC community, warned readers to "stay away from the Michael Jackson impersonator if you see one," apparently the impersonatorJordana Neely'ego.
"Used to be cool dancing with MJ on the subway but lately she's gone geeky," wrote one user.

“Once, in late spring or early summer, I saw him on a train, his radio went off and he was mad, cursing and babbling at the passengers yelling 'What the hell are you looking at? Don't look at me!" He didn't expect her to act like this at all.

The poster noted that “from that day on, he was just a scary guy to me. He no longer dresses up. No more dancing... just asking for money. Occasionally yelling obscenities."
"But today was a weird day. One morning on my way to school, I'm sitting on a bench and out of nowhere I hear someone come out cursing the storm. It was that MJ guy. Everyone except this guy was cool. [sic] The team [from the metropolitan transport authority] was there, but they didn't do anything and just let him keep blowing the stamp. The train arrives and I get on the car, which is not because I'm sure I'm not getting on the same car as him. The guy doesn't even He didn't even wait to get on the train. He was afraid for the people next to him because he was afraid someone would fall on the tracks."

In an update to the ten-year-old post on Thursday, the original author said: “Look, I'm not going to delete this post. I muted this thread so I stopped receiving notifications. This is NOT an excuse for you right-wing lunatics to go crazy in the comments or spew your anti-black bullshit, so please hold yourselves."
In addition, netizens discovered another video of "Howard Stern Show" personality Joey Boots confronting Neely, which was posted over a decade ago.
WARNING: The following video contains highly figurative language that some viewers may find offensive.

It's true that Boots challenged Neely, but he backs down when Neely makes threats and also uses language that might have upset leftists in other circumstances. As one Twitter user noted: “Here is Jordan Neely openly attacking the gay community, drag queening and using homophobic slurs before physically attacking a man. Where do the liberals go?

The Jordan Neely case is a true tragedy that could have been avoided ifNeelyhe was where he belonged: in a mental health facility or behind bars.
According to WABC, "Neely was reportedly on an unofficial list of the 50 homeless people most in need of care." He is also wanted for pushing someone onto the tracks and has a warrant for his arrest for beating a 67-year-old woman, according toNew York Post Office.
Is it any wonder it ended like this? And upnew york subway, a transportation system that has not been exempt from crime in recent years?
Decent people should really feel sorry for Neely's family and friends, but the clamor on the left over murder charges that prevented someone from having a psychotic break without the police being in sight is foolish and misguided.
